Zunheboto, October 31 (MTNews): Speaking as the Special Guest during the celebration of the 50th year of academic establishment of Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu on Saturday at Multipurpose Hall, KPA, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio urged the Nagas to unite and leave aside tribalism but rather work towards ‘Nagaism’.
“Unity is the need of the hour; Nagas should set aside all sorts of tribalism and work towards Naga unity and Nagaism. The government of India has recognized the unique identity of the Nagas and it is up to them to be united to achieve their goals,” a DIPR report quoted Rio as saying.
The Chief Minister also thanked the faculties’ dedication and for enabling many students to pass out from the institution. He further lauded the land owners who donated the land and cooperated in establishing the institution.
He later called the public of the area the ‘guardians of the institute’ and hoped that they would continue to look after it as they are doing now.
“The people of the area, and faculties should make a combined effort to attract more students from the state and outside as well,” he said.
Now that the institution is trying to be a full-fledged engineering institution, he said the government will give its full cooperation to pursue it.
“It all depends on everyone for the institute to progress and to become a center of excellence,” he said, and remarked, “since the world is becoming technical we have to be experts in every way for which networking is essential.”
“We have to work together to make Nagaland a technical state,” he exhorted and urged the people to unite saying that without unity we cannot progress.
Earlier on arrival, the Chief Minister unveiled the 50th anniversary monument.
