CM Rio visits Tuli Sub-Division, reviews development projects

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio undertook an official visit to Tuli Sub-Division, Mokokchung district, to assess developmental projects and engage with local communities on Wednesday.

The Chief Minister arrived at the Tzudikong Town Helipad before proceeding to Wameken Village, where he inaugurated the newly constructed Wameken Village Council Hall, marking a step forward in strengthening local governance infrastructure. He also visited the Sentimeren Memorial Watch Tower at Kangtsüng Village.

Continuing his tour, Rio inspected the Longnakba Lenden Tuli Railway Station. He later visited the ongoing Foothill Road construction site, where he acknowledged public participation in the project and reiterated the government’s commitment to better road infrastructure for economic and social development.

A key part of the visit was his stop at the Chief Minister’s Camp Site in Wameken Valley, Nemti Block, where he held discussions on regional development initiatives. Addressing a public meeting, Rio outlined government policies, ongoing projects, and future plans for the region.

He emphasized aligning Nagaland’s growth with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047, urging collective efforts to accelerate progress across all sectors.

Rio expressed satisfaction with the active involvement of the public in the Foothill Road construction and assured continued government support for infrastructure development. On railway connectivity, he announced that discussions had been held with the Central Railway Ministry regarding the upgrade of railway services in the area. He assured that efforts were underway to extend services beyond goods transport to include passenger travel, improving accessibility for the region.

A major highlight of his speech was the long-pending issue of the Tuli Paper Mill revival. Rio reaffirmed the government’s commitment to restoring its operations and mentioned ongoing coordination with 3ACSL Company to facilitate its revival, ensuring employment opportunities and industrial growth.

Concluding his address, the Chief Minister underscored the dignity of labor, urging people to respect all forms of work and adopt a self-reliant mindset.

Rio was accompanied by Metsubo Jamir, Minister for Rural Development & SIRD; A. Pangjung Jamir, Advisor for Fishery & Aquatic Resources; W. Chingang Konyak, Advisor for Geology & Mining and DUDA; Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe, MLA; Benei M. Lamthiu, MLA; Sentiwapang Aier, Additional Secretary to the CMO, along with Heads of Departments and Administrators from Mokokchung headquarters and Tuli Sub-Division.
