The Department of Health and Family Welfare has announced the extension of the permissible reimbursement period for medical treatments under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) for government employees and pensioners. According to the latest notification, the reimbursement period has been extended from November 1, 2022, to March 28, 2024, superseding the previous period from November 1, 2022, to December 31, 2023. This update was issued under the notification, dated December 18, 2024.

The updated provisions state that if treatment was undertaken after the deduction of the Medical Allowance, regardless of whether the treatment was in an empanelled CMHIS hospital or under the old MR scheme, reimbursement will fall under the CMHIS (EP). However, if the treatment was taken before the deduction of Medical Allowance, reimbursement will be covered under the old MR scheme.

The treatment cost will be reimbursed as per the CMHIS Health Benefit Package rate or as recommended by the State Medical Committee under the National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS).

It is important to note that reimbursement claims will only be accepted for treatments undertaken between November 1, 2022, and March 28, 2024.

To submit claims, individuals are required to upload their applications along with supporting documents on the official CMHIS portal at https://cmhis.nagaland.gov.in/. Detailed guidelines for the claim submission process are also available on the website.

The Department has urged all concerned individuals to follow the updated deadlines and guidelines to ensure the smooth processing of their claims. For any further queries or assistance, individuals can contact the toll-free helpline at 1800-202-3380.
