Most Respect Hon’ble Sir,
The CNCCI is a state apex business body representing all the District Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Nagaland. The CNCCI is a non-political neutral body comprising of peace loving business community of Nagaland. The CNCCI came into existence to promote, safeguard and work for the welfare of the business community of Nagaland and to further promote the business interest beyond the state both at National and International level by creating a sustainable and business friendly eco-system in Nagaland.

Hon’ble Sir, India under your able statesmanship has grown leaps and bounds in all aspect of development of our great Nation taking India to one of the top countries in the world. The business community also take great pride in your Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.  We also take this opportunity to thank you for taking Nagaland along with the rest of the country and for your unfailing zeal to develop Nagaland.

Hon’ble Sir, it is popularly known that you appreciate the feedback and inputs from the grass root level and hence taking this opportunity the CNCCI on behalf of the business community of Nagaland would like to put before you some of the request for your sympathetic view and redressal:

1. Sir, the people and the business community of Nagaland is very thankful for your relentless effort to resolve the long pending Indo-Naga Political issue. Hon’ble Sir, it may be brought to your notice that elusive Indo-Naga Political Solution has deeply impacted the economic progress of the state apart from creating untold miserable hardship and difficulty for the business community of Nagaland. It has further affects the entire outlook of the region in term of economic development as the outside world views the region as one thereby infer to be un-conducive for any tangible investment and as a viable business destination. We therefore humbly request you, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, to resolve the Indo-Naga political issue without further delay as the business community and the youth of Nagaland yearns to progress with rest of the country.

2. Request for Modern warehousing, Cold storages and Amenity facility Zone to be set up in the plains adjacent to Dimapur for Carry and Forward, Storage, Sorting and Dispatch. The facility should be equipped with the capacity to accommodate at least 1000 trailers/trucks at any given point of time with adequate Amenity Facilities such as Hotels, Medical facility, fuel depots, machinery and vehicles maintenance facility, shopping complex to mention few. Hon’ble Sir, as Dimapur is well connected by Air, Road and Rail, such facility is befitting for the reasons that it will help rapid economic development and employment generation in Nagaland. Further, it will not only boost the economy of Nagaland but enhance and encourage more interstate business within and outside North East and boost trade with South East Asian countries through the Act East Policy.

3. Hon’ble Sir, Nagaland has reached 60 years of Statehood yet it is the lowest generator of electricity in the country and is majorly depended on other States despite Nagaland has an estimated renewable energy potential of 89354.18 MW as per DONER. The erratic power supply due to its meagre power generation capacity compared to the demand has always been one of the major reasons for lack of development in the Industry and Business sector in Nagaland, even the existing businesses and MSMEs suffers and struggles to stay afloat and faces huge losses due to electricity shortage. Sir, as you are aware no worthwhile economic development can exist without proper supply of power, therefore, the business community humbly request you to kindly take all necessary initiatives to install at least a power generating capacity of 1000 MW in Nagaland by utilizing the abundant Renewable Energy that Nagaland is blessed with. The business community is fully convinced that such a step will not only usher in rapid economic development of the state and will improve the fiscal condition of our state through revenue generation.

4. The ambitious project of the FOOT HILL ROAD measuring 395 KMs stretching across the plains of Nagaland crossing 8 districts of Nagaland which was initially funded under Special Plan Assistance (SPA) under the Planning Commission. However, with the establishment of NITI Aayog the funding was discontinued and the project was taken up by the state government considering the economic importance of the road that has the potential to change the economic landscape of Nagaland. However sir, as you are aware that Nagaland is a resource crunch state and the project more than a decade is yet to be materialized. Hon’ble Sir, this Foot Hill Road will give huge economic dividend to the State and we, therefore, request you to kindly help make it into reality by constructing Four Lane Road.

5. Hon’ble Sir, the long dream of India connecting to South East Asian countries though North Eastern States by road through Asian Highway in consonance to Act East Policy with four lane road for seamless flow of traffic especially for the trailers, trucks and cargo has almost been fulfilled. Unfortunately the stretch between Kohima to Mao Gate (Manipur) a distance of just 27 KMs in Nagaland remains to be constructed  which is now becoming a bottle neck for the movement of traffic and logistic at sizeable volumes. We therefore urge your good office to ensure that the remaining stretch is taken up with urgency and completed and make Asian Highway truly worth its name, ambition and vision to connect South East Asian Countries through North Eastern Indian States under your visionary Act East Policy.

6. Sir, the entire nation is taking pride with Vande Bharat Train Sir, which is next to none but Nagaland which has only one railway station in Dimapur, the second highest revenue generating station under NEFR is yet to be connected by the Vande Bharat Train. Sir, under your leadership the electrification of railway lines has reached Dimapur and therefore we requested you to extend the Vande Bharat Train to Dimapur from Guwahati. Sir, introduction of such train will not only help alleviate the comfort of travellers, support our tourism sector, facilitate more case of doing business and economic growth and further bridge the remoteness of the Nagaland state from the rest of the Nation.

Hon’ble Sir the CNCCI writes this with great hope and anticipation that you will promptly address our difficulties as your leadership is pro-active and leaves no stone unturned for the progress of our great nation.

With regards
(Dr. Khekugha Muru)
Chairman

(Dr. Seyeivilie Mor)
