Mokokchung, August 10 (MTNews): The Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has today demanded immediate recall for recasting of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) scheme already submitted to the Central Government by the State Level Committee. Reiterating its disappointment on the allocation of PMJVK schemes 2022-2023 in the state, CNTC said that “only four districts namely Dimapur, Kohima, Chumukedima and Niuland” were approved by the government while the remaining districts were left out.
CNTC therefore demanded that the chief minister recall and recast the allocation of the entire scheme under PMJVK 2022-2023 for the state of Nagaland. It also warned that it will be compelled to go for mass agitation on the failure to address their demand.
“Initially in the first notification, only four districts were notified of the schemes but the remaining districts did not receive any notification. It was only after CNTC in a press statement on July 24, 2022 demanded that the funds be equally distributed district wise, that the state government issued another notification on July 26, 2022 for district wise submission of the PMJVK schemes as additional proposals from the State which is an afterthought action of the State Government only,” CNTC said in a press release.
CNTC said that since the last date of submission of proposal to the centre was August 6, it was practically impossible to prepare the scheme within such a short period of time as it needed the approval of Block Level Committee (BLC) and district level Committee as required under Para 2.1.1 of PMJVK guidelines. CNTC also said that it was impossible for the concerned official to do the needful within a period of two weeks.
It termed the notification issued for the remaining 13 districts on July 26, 2022 as a mockery and afterthought action of the chief minister as the documents of the four districts which have been allocated PMJVK schemes have already reached Delhi.
CNTC also demanded to know on what basis the remaining 13 districts in the state will get the funds when it has been finalized. It also questioned why the two areas – CNTC and ENPO areas, have always been ignored in all development fronts. CNTC further said it was not against any tribe or community or against development activities taking place in the state but was fighting for what was their due share and that funds should be equally distributed district wise.
