A two-day Program & Commercial Meeting of All Akashvani Stations in the Northeast Zone commenced from 27 February 2025 at Hotel Japfü, Kohima, was hosted by Akashvani Kohima. The meeting brings together Heads of Programs (HOP) and Commercial representatives from across the region to discuss strategies for content enhancement and commercial development.
Ashish Bhatnagar, Additional Director General (Administration & Broadcast Operation, Content-Operations), Akashvani, Northeast Zone, Guwahati, presided over the first meeting aimed at refining programming strategies and improving audience engagement.
Addressing the gathering, Bhatnagar emphasized the need for creative programming, increased audience participation, and the enrichment of localized content to enhance the reach and influence of public broadcasting in the region. Discussions also covered operational challenges and collaborative approaches to elevate the quality of programming across Akashvani stations in the Northeast.
The second day of the meeting, held on February 28, 2025 was graced by the presence of Dr. Pragya Paliwal Gaur, Director General of Akashvani, New Delhi. The discussions on this day focused on commercial development strategies, including revenue generation, sponsorship acquisition, and leveraging modern broadcasting techniques to expand Akashvani’s audience base.
This high-level meeting marks a concerted effort to drive innovation and sustainability in public broadcasting, ensuring that Akashvani continues to serve as a vital source of information and entertainment for audiences across the Northeast.
