Deputy Commissioner Thsuvisie Phoji announced that, following a joint inspection of National Highways 702D and 2, truck movement for the transportation of essential commodities will resume effective the evening of August 13, 2024. The routes affected are: NH 702D (Mokokchung – Changki -Mariani Road)  and NH 2 (Amguri-Tuli – Changtongya – Mokokchung).

The inspection was conducted on August 10, 2024, by a team including officials from the District Administration, Public Works Department (PWD) NH, Ao Senden, AKM/LKM, and the Mokokchung Truck Owners’ Association. The decision to resume truck movement was based on the team’s findings and the improved condition of the roads.

Meantime, the contractors concerned and the supervising department were asked to ensure continuous maintenance work with adequate manpower and machinery to keep the roads pliable without further interruptions.
