A common platform program for the ULB Election 2024 was jointly organized by the Senior Citizens Forum, Chozuba Town Youth Association, Chozuba Town Chakhesang Students’ Union, and Chozuba Town Women Welfare Society on Wednesday in Chozuba Town.
A total of 29 candidates from nine wards under Chozuba Town Council have filed their nominations for the upcoming ULB poll scheduled for June 26.
All intending candidates addressed the gathering and shared their visions and plans for town welfare if voted into power.
Chozuba is one of the oldest towns (fourth town) in Nagaland and is among the 39 municipal and town councils in Nagaland.
Earlier, short speeches were delivered by the Head GB of Chozuba Town, the Chairman of the Senior Citizens Forum, and members from the Chakhesang Clean Election Movement. Besuvoto Rhakho, pastor of the Christian Revival Church, Chozuba Town, pronounced the invocation, while Sekhotso Tetseo, secretary of the Senior Citizens Forum, chaired the program.
A resolution was adopted by the Joint Frontal Organizations of Chozuba Town at the end of the program. It resolved that camping, feasting, or any gathering that may disturb the harmonious living of the town is not allowed.
“The organizations fully authorized the Women Society and Youth Association to monitor against any possible bribery or use of intoxicating materials,” it resolved.
The resolution further added that any candidates who fail to abide by the above resolutions will not be allowed to contest.
