Mokokchung, December 14 (MTNews): The president of the Indian National Congress has approved the proposal for the constitution of the Political Affairs Committee, Pradesh Election Committee and Election Campaign Committee for Nagaland state on Wednesday. According to a press release issued by KC Venugopal, MP and General Secretary of All India Congress Committee (AICC), three committees were set up for the purpose of the ensuing assembly elections in Nagaland 2023, with immediate effect.

 

According to Venugopal, the three committees that have been approved are Political Affairs Committee, Pradesh Election Committee and Election Campaign Committee.

 

The Political Affairs Committee (PAC) is led by NPCC president K Therie and has Dr S.C. Jamir, KL Chishi, Khriedi Theunuo, Bobby Panicker, V Lasuh, W Akum Yim, Alemjongshi Longkumer, and Shaboh Konyak as members. The PAC also has Dr Ajoy Kumar and Ranajit Mukherjee as ex-officio members.

 

The Pradesh Election Committee (PEC) will also be led by K Therie as the chairman with KL Chishi, Khriedi Theunuo, Bobby Panicker, V Lasuh, W Akum Yim, Supongmeren Jamir, Alemjongshi Longkumer, N Yona Konyak, and Chuba Yim as members. The PEC will also have all District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents and all frontal heads as co-opted members. Dr Ajoy Kumar, AICC in-Charge and Ranajit Mukherjee, AICC Secretary will be ex-officio members of the PEC.

 

Meanwhile, the Election Campaign Committee (ECC) will be led by Khriedi Theunuo as the chairman and Capt. GK Zhimomi as co—chairman. The members of the ECC are Dr SC Jamir, KL Chishi, K Therie, Bobby Panicker, V Lasuh, W Akum Yim, Supongmeren Jamir, Alemjongshi Longkumer, Shaboh Konyak, N Yona Konyak, and L Chuba Yim. All the PCC office bearers, DCC Presidents, all frontal heads, and chairman of Minority Committee of NPCC are co-opted members of the ECC. Dr Ajoy Kumar and Ranajit Mukherjee will be ex-officio members of this committee.
