The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra of the Congress party led by Rahul Gandhi on Saturday entered Doimukh in Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh from Lakhimpur in neighbouring Assam at around 2 pm on Saturday, and will remain there till Sunday. President of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Nabam Tuki welcomed the Congress leader at the Gumto check gate in Papum Pare district, where a flag handover ceremony took place between Tuki and Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Bhupen Borah.

The 6,713-km-long march, led by the Congress MP, commenced from Manipur on 14 January and will culminate on 20 March in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, as the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra entered Arunachal Pradesh, the Congress took on the BJP-led government at the Centre over the border issue with China.
Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh claimed that PM Narendra Modi’s statement that no one entered Indian territory nor were Indian posts taken over has weakened the country’s position in talks with China.
Ramesh expressed his concerns on X in Hindi, stating, “PM Modi’s statement was not only an insult to our 20 martyred soldiers, but because of that clean chit, China is showing aggressive attitude in Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh.”
“The PM proudly says that he has met Chinese President Xi Jinping 18 times. But what was its effect? Cheap Chinese imports are increasing and millions of small businesses, which used to provide 90 per cent of employment, have closed. Every half hour, an unemployed youth is committing suicide,” Ramesh alleged.
“Congress had added Article 371H to the Constitution of the country for the people of Arunachal, which has special provisions for the state. Only the Congress party is making efforts to preserve the religious, linguistic and ethnic diversities in Arunachal and entire India,” he said.
Assam CM obstructing Yatra entry to Guwahati: Ramesh
Ramesh further asserted that the Assam CM, Himanta Biswa Sarma, is obstructing the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from entering Guwahati on January 23. Additionally, the Congress general secretary claimed that the Assam CM is preventing Rahul Gandhi from engaging with the media at the Guwahati Press Club, despite the club’s invitation.
He tweeted on X, stating, “The Assam CM continues to deny permission to the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra to enter Guwahati on January 23rd. He is also refusing permission to @RahulGandhi to interact with the media at the Guwahati Press Club at the Club’s invitation. Clearly the Assam CM is very nervous and shaken by the tremendous response to the Yatra in Assam so far.”
