After paying solemn tribute to the departed leader, Bendangkokba and his entourage proceeded to Longpa village to kick off his candidature declaration roadshow.

In his speech, the Congress candidate lamented at the prevailing condition of places like Kobulong and Yisemyong in the constituency which has been disadvantaged for being “neither a town nor a village,” missing out on both rural and urban development opportunities, and assured adequate development thrusts if he is elected.

He also committed to initiate a participatory development approach for the constituency by taking into confidence the stakeholders and taking them onboard in formulating people-centric and sustainable development policies.

Underscoring his desire to serve the common villager and the ordinary citizen, he shared his personal life experience by saying that he grew up destitute as the child of a single mother and that he understands the plight of the economically weaker section of society.

The retired IAS officer also spelled out his conviction to make the constituency achieve greater heights of progress and development and sought the support of the people to that end.
