Kohima, February 6 (MTNews): Addressing media persons at Congress Bhavan Kohima today, Chairperson Media and Publicity Department, All India Congress Committee (AICC), Pawan Khera alleged that the State Chief Minister is “completely compromising in the hands of Delhi, Amit Shah and Modi.”

“Do not vote for a puppet. Don’t vote for those who control the puppet. Vote for Congress,” Khera appealed.

The Congress leader also appealed to the people of Nagaland to vote wisely in this upcoming state general election and alleged that for the last 20 years NDPP, NPF and BJP together looted the state.

“It is the time for the people to wake up and think of the unfulfilled promises made by the present government,” he said, and called on the people to vote for the Congress party.

Khera further accused the Nagaland Chief Minister for bringing BJP to Nagaland and alleged that the unfinished building of the High Court in Nagaland “is the model of Rio and Modi.”

Highlighting the failures of the present government, Khera alleged that the PM’s Modi government could not fulfill their promise which was ‘solution before election’.

“As long as Neiphiu Rio remains as Chief Minister, there will be no solution,” he stated, adding that it was he who has attempted at steering the trust of Nagaland towards PM Modi.

Khera further alleged that the announcement made by Amit Shah to create Frontier Naga Territory for the Eastern Nagaland is another false promise just to get vote for the BJP in this ensuing Assembly Election. Khera said such endorsement at this stage is a brazen violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

The Nagaland congress whose manifesto stresses on social welfare such as healthcare scheme for all, and increased old age and widow pension is a critical component to provide a sense of security to the elderly, unemployed and underprivileged.

Khera claimed that the Congress has a very constructive manifesto, adding that the manifesto was arrived upon by a broad-based discussion with “different citizen groups, intellectuals and people whose hearts beat for Nagaland.”

He continued that every single word written in the manifesto comes from people who really think for Nagaland. “We don’t believe in remote control politics. We don’t believe in remote control governance the way BJP does,” he said.

‘Rio brought BJP; BJP brought LJP’

In a press note handed out during the press conference, the congress also alleged that while the Nagaland Chief Minister brought BJP to Nagaland, the BJP has now brought the LJP and claimed that the LJP has now given tickets to the MLAs rejected by the NDPP.

“If together they get more seats than NDPP, then they want to have a BJP Chief Minister,” it claimed.

“They will spend about a thousand crores for buying the votes and next five years loot thousands of crores,” the Congress alleged, stating that the time has come for the people of Nagaland to not allow NDPP-BJP government to take their trust for a ride.
