The Uttar Pradesh leg of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will be shortened by several days, ending at least a week earlier than planned, according to party insiders, reported Indian Express. Originally, the Yatra was scheduled for an 11-day stint in the politically crucial state, and was set to cover 28 Lok Sabha constituencies, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s constituency Varanasi, Rae Bareli, and Amethi.

However, as per the report, sources revealed that the revised route will skip most western UP districts, traveling directly from Lucknow to Aligarh and Agra before heading to Madhya Pradesh.

While speculations arise over the Congress’s INDIA bloc partner, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), potentially joining the BJP-led NDA, party sources insist the decision to curtail the yatra is unrelated.

The truncated schedule aims to allow Rahul Gandhi more time for interactions along the way, with the yatra now expected to conclude between 10 and 14 March ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

Additionally, there’s anticipation for Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s possible participation as the yatra enters UP. Moreover, the INDIA bloc plans its first joint rally in Karnataka, amid challenges following exits from other alliance members.
