Tzudikumzuk Lemtur popularly known as TK Lemtur is a singer-songwriter and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Horticulture (Olericulture) from Dr. YSPUHF Nauni, Solan, Himachal Pradesh.
Growing up in Mokokchung, TK Lemtur has been working as an artist since 2015 but after his debut release ‘My Oh My’, he hasn’t been able to put out new music.
“There were a lot of reasons but I did release another single called ‘Lights’ back in November 2019 after which the pandemic hit and wasn’t able to put out my EP as planned but had the opportunities to work on some collaborations,” he said.
Recently, he has been working on new materials and has put out another single called ‘Alright’ with Vitz Zhimo.
TK has worked with the likes of Moko Koza in his first collaboration which he calls it as a “really good experience”.
“I got to work with many artists and producers during the lockdown; Vitz, Tems Clover, Alobo Naga, Mar Jamir (Polar lights), Big Dane, Tetseo Sisters, Virie, Rono Kent; Tongs, Iuili (Trance Effect), Shone, Zuchobeni and Nagabeats, all amazing artists. It was also such an honor to be a part of the Lemtur Naklu Ken. Aside from these amazing artists, I got to work with Sans production, Vizo, and my dearest pals Tsungchi and Aochell and it has all been such a big blessing and a massive learning experience for me,” he shared.
Speaking about his EP, he hoped that it all goes well.
“Plans are there to release my EP with an EP film in the next couple of months and I hope it goes well. I’ve been doing some covers in between my projects,” he informed.
When it comes to music, TK said he draws inspiration from his personal experiences and tries to stay true to his feelings and put as much soul into it as possible.
“I am sort of a perfectionist and so it takes time for me to assemble and put out anything new but I try to do my best when it comes to my music aside from all my other works and academics”.
Ever since high school, TK has been living away from home in different cities and hasn’t been able to grasp the music scene in Nagaland entirely and that, according to him, has been a drawback.
“Unfortunately, I couldn’t make any connections nor do any gigs back home to build a fan base. But in a way, I feel like that has made me discover and develop my style without much influence from the trends happening around and I couldn’t be happier. Cause at the end of the day, to be an artist is to be brutally honest with your craft and be true to yourself,” he said.
Apart from his own music, Tzudi writes children’s songs with some of his friends and enjoys cooking for himself.
“I love my coffee and like to doodle as well. I do a bit of carpentry on a very amateur level as it helps keep me focused. In general, I like creating things. I am an introverted person but can be an extrovert with the right people. I love my pets and my family and would do anything for them,” he said.
In conclusion, he appealed to the people to help and support the artists as they work really hard and put their soul into their craft to put it out to the world.
“We artists work really hard and put our soul into our craft and put it out into the world which is not very easy. So, I would like to request the public to help and support us with whatever you can, do stream our music, help us promote them, and keep encouraging us as we don’t make much from it but your one stream, your one share can make a big difference for us and help us continue to do what we love”.
