Impur, 20 July (MTNews): The Boys’ Hostel of Impur Bible Seminary constructed by the Mokokchung Town Baptist Arogo (MTBA) in commemoration of 150 years of Christianity among the Ao Nagas was dedicated today, the plaque of which was unveiled by ABAM Executive Secretary, Prof Rev Dr Mar Pongener.

The construction of the Boys’ Hostel commenced on 2 January 2023 and was completed within a span of just 6 months on 29 June. The total estimated cost of the building, excluding furniture, was Rs 1,47,67,000/- based on the 2016 PWD Schedule of Rates (SOR). The actual construction cost, which also covered 35 bunk beds, an inverter, fans, curtains, 100 chairs, and lecterns, amounted to Rs 77,54,000/-.

 

The construction committee members, led by Mr Imcha as the convener and comprising Mr Lima, Mr Imliyanger, Er Isaak, Mr Tiasunep, and the Pastor as Ex-officio member, played a crucial role in bringing this project to fruition.

 

Imtilemla, the principal of Impur Bible Seminary, expressed her profound gratitude to MTBA for their unwavering support. She acknowledged that the history of Impur Bible Seminary would be incomplete without mentioning the significant contributions of MTBA.

 

During his speech, the ABAM Executive Secretary lauded the church’s dedication to glorify God and emphasized how God’s guidance had led everyone throughout the construction journey. He highlighted the numerous miracles and blessings witnessed during the building’s construction.

 

Rev Nungshi Pongen, a former Headmaster of the erstwhile Impur Bible School graced the program with his presence, adding to the sense of historical significance surrounding the occasion.

 

Rev Ponen Longchar, Pastor of Mokokchung Town Baptist Arogo officially handed over the building to the ABAM Executive Secretary, Prof Rev Dr Mar Pongener, during the ceremony.

 

The Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) expressed its deepest appreciation for the construction of the Boys’ Hostel, considering it a significant contribution to the Seisquicentennial celebration of Christianity among the Ao Nagas.
