In collaboration with Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK), the Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, Mon, organised a Consumer Awareness Programme on 30th September 2025 at the KNSK Officer premises. The event was held under the theme “Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection: The Journey to Viksit Bharat 2047.”

N Mannon, Chief Legal Counsel and Member of the District Consumer Forum, served as the resource person. She elaborated on the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, defining who qualifies as a consumer and explaining consumer rights and responsibilities. Mannon encouraged attendees to utilise the District Consumer Forum in cases of unfair practices, and detailed the procedure for filing complaints. She noted that the forum considers goods or services valued up to one crore rupees at the District Commission level.

The keynote address was delivered by Sr Inspector LMCP Mon, Er Nganyei Konyak, who emphasised the role of individual efforts in achieving the Viksit Bharat 2047 mission and called for a society that is free, fair, and transparent.

The program was chaired by Sheiying, with Toihon invoking God’s presence. The event also featured a prize distribution ceremony for winners of the recently concluded essay competition. Ponglem, President of KNSK, welcomed members from all 11 wards who attended the program.
