In response to the detection of a new COVID-19 variant in the country, the Dr Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung, has issued a directive making it mandatory for all staff to wear face masks during duty hours. The notice was issued by Medical Superintendent Dr Ademla Tinu.
In addition to hospital staff, the directive extends to patients and their attendants. All wards, OPDs, and units have been instructed to “inform the patients and their attendants to strictly comply with the same.”
The precautionary measure comes as health authorities nationwide are once again on alert following reports of a newly detected variant, prompting several institutions to reinforce COVID-appropriate behavior.
