One-day consultative meeting and workshop on “NIPUN BHARAT” held

 

 

In a step towards revamping the education system in the district, a one-day consultative meeting and workshop on “NIPUN BHARAT” was held on 30 May in the Conference Hall of the District Education Office, Mokokchung. The event brought together members of the District Task Force, District Project Management Unit, Block Project Management Unit and other stakeholders to deliberate on strategies to improve the quality and accessibility of education across the district.

The consultative meeting and workshop, organized by DMA Samagra Shiksha Mokokchung, aimed to provide a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, share best practices, and collectively shape the future direction of the “NIPUN BHARAT” initiative. This ambitious program launched in July 2021 seeks to create an enabling environment to ensure universal acquisition of foundational literacy and numeracy, so that by 2026-27 every child achieves the desired learning competencies in reading, writing and numeracy at the end of Grade III.

 

During the welcome address, Sentinenla, District Education Officer (DEO) and Chairman, District Task Force NIPUN BHARAT, Mokokchung highlighted the importance of transforming the education system. The DEO emphasized the crucial role of the participants to disseminate and assess the implementation of the NIPUN BHARAT program at the ground level. She also underscored the focus areas for improvement and strategies for better implementation of the program.

 

Aosenla, Sr. Lecture DIET Mokokchung and Member, District Project Management Unit, Mokokchung presenting on the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) delivered insightful presentations on various aspects of “NIPUN BHARAT,” including curriculum reform, teacher training, technology integration, and inclusive education. The workshop sessions facilitated in-depth discussions, encouraging participants to share their perspectives and suggestions for effective implementation.

 

Additionally, Imkongwabang, Asst. District Coordinator, DMA Samagra Shiksha Mokokchung presented on the National Achievement Survey 2021 where he highlighted how Mokokchung district is the best performing district in the state in the overall achievement score of the report. However, he also highlighted how a high percentage of students in the district are underperforming in various subjects according to the report.

 

The workshop concluded with the concluding remarks by S Bendang Aier, ADEO and Member, District Project Management Unit, Mokokchung.

 

The collective efforts and insights shared during the consultative meeting and workshop on “NIPUN BHARAT” are anticipated to bring enlightenment to the stakeholders, enabling them to effectively achieve the objectives set forth, in order to redefine the quality and accessibility of education in the district.
