Chumoukedima were crowned champions of the Senior Men’s Inter District Tournament 2026 after defeating Dimapur by six wickets in the final at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Chumoukedima, on Friday.
A disciplined bowling performance followed by a comfortable chase helped Chumoukedima secure the title in convincing fashion.
After being asked to bat first, Dimapur were bowled out for 80 runs in 25.1 overs. Shamphri Terang top-scored with 26 off 34 balls, but the batting side struggled to build partnerships against a strong bowling attack.
Neizekho Rupreo starred with the ball for Chumoukedima, taking 4 wickets for 16 runs in 7.1 overs to earn the Player of the Match award. He received good support from Imliwati, who claimed 3 for 15, while Ravi Kumar Ram picked up 2 for 36.
In reply, Chumoukedima chased down the target with ease, reaching 85 for 4 in 17.1 overs.
Jonathan Rongsen led the chase with a brisk 27 off 21 balls, while Aloto Sumi added 23 off 19 balls to guide the team home without major trouble.
For Dimapur, Hopongkyu Sangtam and Sundram Gupta took two wickets each, but the modest total proved too little to defend.
