The Administrative Heads of Departments (AHoDs) and Heads of Departments (HoDs) convened a coordination meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen, IAS, at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat Conference Hall, Kohima, on November 26, 2025, with a focus on tightening administrative processes ahead of the Hornbill Festival.
Imchen expressed concern over the State Government’s increasing legal setbacks, calling on all departments to “treat legal issues with utmost seriousness” and adopt a proactive approach in defending government cases. He also reminded officers of their responsibility to attend state dinners, noting their frequent absences.
With major events approaching, including the Hornbill Festival and the upcoming Pre-Christmas celebration, the Chief Secretary directed the Home Department to coordinate with the Chief Minister’s Office for timely preparations. He urged AHoDs and HoDs to ensure strict adherence to procedures, meticulous file processing, and routine briefings to Advisors and Ministers on rules and procedures.
As part of the State’s administrative overhaul, Imchen asked each department to appoint a nodal officer for eOffice to streamline digital workflow and improve efficiency.
Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, IAS, highlighted the mass social work scheduled for November 28 from 6:00 AM across Kohima town, involving government employees, the Kohima Municipal Council, NGOs and the general public. The drive aims to promote cleanliness and beautification ahead of the festive season and Hornbill.
Sinha urged departments to ensure both cleaning and proper garbage disposal in their assigned areas.
Several departments also delivered presentations during the meeting. The Finance Department briefed on the Enhanced State Government Salary Package (SGSP), a customized banking and insurance solution for State Government employees formalized through a MoU with the State Bank of India on March 27, 2025. Departments were encouraged to raise awareness so employees can fully benefit from the scheme.
The Finance Department also presented on Money Bill procedures, while the Information Technology Department gave a PowerPoint presentation on digital workplace solutions, including eOffice features and biometric attendance.
