Mokokchung, December 11 (MTNews): The BD2 students of Clark Theological College (CTC), Aolijen, Mokokchung performed a street play on clean and fair elections in the college campus basing on the college annual theme “Empowering to Transform” on December 9.

This was an initiative of the District Administration and District Election Office, Mokokchung SVEEP Campaign 2022. Through the play, they shared the message of hope, honesty and equality for all. It also shed light upon the corruption in different sections of society, and the consequences of bribery as well.

“We as God’s chosen people must take a stand and make the difference. The change begins with you and I; so come, let us work together for a brighter tomorrow, a tomorrow where there is no longer corruption and unclean elections, but clean and fair elections, where the best choice of the public may be taken and chosen for the betterment of the people as a whole and the society as well,” said one of cast members during the play.

With reference to the life of Esau from the Bible who sold his birthright for a plate of rice, they challenged the audience through the play not to follow in his footsteps by selling one’s ‘birthright’ for the temporal sake of greed, money and power.

The play challenged the people to come together in truth and honesty so that “we may see a brighter tomorrow, a corruption free Nagaland, a Nagaland that truly stands for Christ.”
