Mokokchung, August 25 (MTNews): Tia Ajem SHG organized a one-day training cum exposure visit on areca leaf plate making, facilitated by DAY-Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission, BMMU Mangkolemba, and supported by NABARD, Nagaland Regional Office on August 23, 2022 at M/S Eco Friendly Areca Leaf Plate Making Unit, Dimapur.
Azupa Chophi, the unit’s proprietor, served as the training’s resource person. He highlighted on the manufacturing procedures, benefits, and market potential of areca leaf plates and highlighted the job prospects it offers to the local community. The team further discussed on the health benefits and environmental significance it provides over plastic and bagasse plates.
A demonstration/practical session was held at the end of the session.
