Dimapur, March 13 (MTNews): The Dimapur Ao Youth Organization (DAYO) stated today that it fully supports the creation of new districts in Nagaland, saying that distribution and delegation of responsibilities to reach all section of the population has become the hallmark for successful working of any government in modern administration.

DAYO said that India as a welfare state has embarked upon a “developmental decentralized policy” through the creation of more districts to reach the remotest part of the country for equitable access to government programs, polices and schemes. “Nagaland should also be, therefore, a testimony to this noble principle and vision indeed,” DAYO said.

“The decision of the Government of Nagaland to create the 2 new districts of Tseminyu and Shamator keeping in mind tribal sensibilities is well appreciated and should have its logical conclusion without bias. The creation of Nuiland and Chumokedima districts should not only be for administrative redressal but should be for economic aspirations and opportunities for the common people by taking advantage of the SARFAESI Act,” DAYO explained.

While stating that it fully supports the proposed district demarcation, DAYO added that it should be implemented without further delay as it is within the administrative boundary of the state. “After required reasonable rectification, the pragmatic considerations should prevail over other trivial issues. On such magnanimous policy decision of a duly elected and mandated body of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, it is expected from bona-fide citizens to extend their goodwill and cooperation,” DAYO added.
