The Dimapur Ao Youth Organization (DAYO) has issued a strong condemnation of what they describe as a “heinous act of homicide” that led to the tragic death of Lt. Noghuvi K Sumi, a theology student. Expressing deep sorrow, DAYO noted that the young student “could have been a blessing not only to one’s tribe but to the Nagas and other non-believers.”

In a statement, DAYO highlighted that “Naga society had enough of such brutal acts of cold-blooded murder,” calling it “not only against Christian values but also an affront to the values of justice, humanity, and the sanctity of life that we all hold dear in our society.” They further underscored that “no crime is more egregious than taking a life” and appealed to authorities to conduct a thorough investigation, urging them to “spare no means in investigating and bringing the murderers to justice.”

Similarly, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Nagaland State, expressed shock over the “horrific murder of Late Noghuvi Sumi.” According to NSUI, the student’s body was found “disposed of on the roadside at Northern Angami Colony, Walford,” an act they called “inhumane” and condemned in “the strongest possible terms.”

The NSUI statement emphasized that “such dastardly acts do not find any place in a civilized society and need to be outrightly rejected.” Calling on the authorities, NSUI urged a “fair and thorough investigation” and demanded that “the culprit be brought to justice.” They also extended a call for “all right-thinking citizens to stand in solidarity with the victim’s family until justice is served.”

Additionally, the NSUI conveyed their sympathies, offering “deepest condolences to the family during these trying times.”
