Don Bosco College, Kohima (DBCK) hosted its 12th Freshers’ Day on Saturday, formally welcoming the new batch of students into the college community.

Director of Postal Services for Nagaland, Dr Alice K. Vizo (IPoS), attended the programme as the special invitee. Congratulating the freshers on embarking on a new academic journey, she encouraged them to approach college life with purpose, discipline and hope.
“Education is not just about degrees, but about building character, resilience and service to society,” she said. Stressing the importance of perseverance, Dr Vizo added that success requires “being persistent, consistent and showing up every day.”
She also highlighted the value of time management, digital responsibility and staying connected to one’s roots while adapting to a changing world. Drawing from her experience in public service, she urged students to cultivate curiosity, integrity and compassion.
Speaking on behalf of the faculty, Dr Imtinaro Longkumer encouraged students to make the most of opportunities at DBCK. N Bin Yemjong and Kesho Kent were crowned Mr Fresher and Ms Fresher 2026, respectively.
