DEO Mokokchung notifies restriction on campaign period
Mokokchung, February 23 (MTNews): The Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh IAS has notified all concerned that the campaign period for the general election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly shall come to an end with effect from 4:00 PM on February 25.
It stated that there will be a prohibition of public meetings during forty-eight hours ending with hours fixed for the conclusion of the poll.
It was also stated that no person shall convene, hold or attend, join, or address any public meetings or procession in connection with the election during the period.
It also prohibited the display of any election matter using cinematography, Television, or similar apparatus or propagate any election matter to the public by holding or arranging any entertainment performances to attract the members of the public.
It was also notified that, in the interest of a free and fair election, all political functionaries/party workers/campaign functionaries, etc who are not from the constituency should not continue to remain in the constituency for forty-eight hours ending with hours fixed for the conclusion of the poll.
