DEO Mokokchung orders district-wide restrictions
Mokokchung, February 24 (MTNews): Deputy Commissioner, District Magistrate and District Election Officer of Mokokchung, Shashank Pratap Singh IAS has in an order on Friday by invoking relevant section of the Representation of the People Act 1951 and the Code of Criminal Procedure prohibited holding of any unlawful assemblies, political rallies, and meetings in connection with election, and assembly of more than five people in an area.
The order stated that the restrictions will extend to all areas under Mokokchung District for election purpose and shall come into force with effect from 4:00 PM of 25 February 2023 and will remain in force till the hour fixed for conclusion of the poll.
