The Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung has in a notification issued on Thursday mandated a change in the operation points for all public transport services in the district, effective from July 1, 2025.
As per the notification, all Sumo, Ecco, and Winger services “plying to and from villages and Sub-Divisional Headquarters within Mokokchung District” must arrive and depart exclusively from the basement of the Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) Shopping Complex.
Meanwhile, all inter-district and inter-state transport services operating within the Mokokchung municipal jurisdiction must now function from the Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) located at Yimyu.

The directive follows a notice from the ADC & CEO of the Mokokchung Municipal Council dated June 16, 2025. Transport operators and stakeholders have been instructed to strictly comply with the new guidelines.
“Any violation shall invite necessary action and penalty as per the Municipal Regulations,” the Deputy Commissioner warned.
