As received from the Dr Ambedkar Foundation under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, has informed all concerned about the revised objectives and application process for the Dr Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme.

The primary objective of the Dr Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme is to provide financial assistance to patients from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities suffering from severe ailments that require costly medical interventions. This includes surgeries for Kidney, Heart, Liver, Cancer, Brain, and other life-threatening diseases, including organ transplants and spinal surgeries.

Eligibility Criteria for the scheme is that the family income of the applicant must not exceed Rs.3,00,000 per annum.

Applicants can apply for the scheme post by submitting the prescribed application form or a plain paper application detailing the prescribed pro-forma available on the Dr Ambedkar Foundation (DAF) website.
