Mokokchung, 31 October (MTNews): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Poji, has issued a travel advisory in response to the significant damage sustained by the Bailey bridge at km 12 along NH 202, located between Ungma and Longsa. As a result, with immediate effect, the movement of all types of vehicles across the bridge has been restricted.
The relevant department is actively working to initiate repair works. Until these repairs are completed, a strict restriction on vehicle movement along this route will remain in force, it said.
Therefore, travelers heading to and from neighboring districts such as Tuensang, Shamator, and Noklak have been advised to use the following alternative routes:
New Sangsomong-Yehemi-Atoizu-Doyang; Mokokchung-Chuchuyimlang-Longmisa-Alisopur-Trongar-NH 202; Mokokchung-Dikhu-Chare (shortcut).
Furthermore, EAC Ongpangkong has been made responsible for coordinating with the relevant departments and ensuring strict adherence to this order.
