Mokokchung, 1 March (MTNews): In preparation for the impending General Election to the 18th Lok Sabha in 2024, Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer (DC & DEO) of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, has taken decisive action to uphold peace and security within the district. An official order has been issued, mandating the physical verification of all firearms and ammunition possessed by license holders, in adherence to rules 30 and 112 of the Arms Rules.
All Arms License holders within Mokokchung District have been directed to report to their nearest designated police station between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, with their firearms, ammunition, and License booklet for verification purposes. The deadline for compliance is set for March 29, 2024.
The officer-in-charge at each respective police station has been tasked with providing daily reports in Excel format. These reports are to include vital details such as the license holder’s name, License number, UIN number, type of Arms License, date of last renewal, and the quantity of ammunition on hand.
