During a brief opening ceremony, DC Mokokchung stated that this is only the beginning and that further sub-stations would be installed in other wards as well.
He expressed his gratitude to the Power Department, Ungma Village Council, Marepkong ward authority, and all other departments involved in the sub-station’s successful installation.

He said that there are many demands from the public and that these demands are genuine. However, he said the government looks into the demands and sets its priorities and plans according to the urgency of the needs.

He said that because of the rising demand for power brought on by lifestyle changes, urbanization, and modernization as well as climate change, we also have obligations as citizens.

He said that because there is no power generation in Nagaland, it should be the citizens’ duty to utilize electricity sparingly, wisely, and in every other manner that can reduce energy and power consumption.

The DC also anticipated that the Power department would adopt solutions to the “Transmission Loss” issue, which is brought about by the district’s rugged terrain and the distances between villages and towns.

In brief remarks, the president of the All Ward Union Mokokchung, the chairman of the Marepkong Ward Council, and the chairman of the Ungma Village Council all thanked the department for finishing its work on schedule and for its efforts to improve the lives of its constituents.
