In light of the upcoming Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections, the scrutiny of nominations for the Wokha/Bhandari Town Council, slated for June 13, 2024, the Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan, has issued directives to ensure the process unfolds peacefully and orderly.

As per the directives, all political parties and candidates have been asked to strictly adhere to the timing instructions provided by the respective Returning Officers for the scrutiny process. As per Rule 27(1) of the Nagaland Municipal Election Rules, 2023, only authorized individuals are permitted within the office of the Returning Officer. This includes candidates, their election agents, one proposer per candidate, and one additional person duly authorized in writing by the concerned candidate.

Rallies, processions, marches, public meetings, and displays of strength have been prohibited within the Wokha/Bhandari town area on the day of scrutiny.

Candidates and political parties have been urged to strictly comply with these restrictions and adhere to all security measures issued periodically.
