Following a directive from the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) dated May 10, 2025 (Letter No NPCC/ADMN-13/2015), the executive committee of the District Congress Committee (DCC) Tuensang convened a meeting to address recent internal issues within the party.

The committee “thoroughly discussed about disregarding the party rules and deliberately acting undemocratic and unconstitutional activity of locking the party office (Bhavan) to lower the prestige of the Congress party and carrying baseless allegation and propaganda against DCC president,” according to an official statement.

Invoking its authority under Article XIX (c) of the Indian National Congress constitution, the DCC executive committee resolved to “take the disciplinary action to the following mentioned members by expelling them from Congress party with immediate effect from the date of issue of this order.”

The expelled members are: Mangyang Chang, General Secretary and James K Chang, General Secretary

The order was signed by Chotsase Sangtam, President of DCC Tuensang.
