A meeting of the District Committee for Lighthouse School Complexes (DCLSC) Mokokchung District was held on 5th February 2025 at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall in Mokokchung. The session was chaired by Deputy Commissioner and DCLSC Chairman, Thsuvisie Phoji, who welcomed participants and provided an overview of the Lighthouse School Complex (LSC) project.

Avelu Ruho, NCS, Deputy Project Director of NEP-The Lighthouse NECTAR, oriented the participants on the project’s current status in the state. She covered key aspects such as the Lighthouse project’s partnership with the World Bank, the components of the project, and the criteria for selecting LSCs (L1 to L4). She also outlined the roles and responsibilities of the DCLSC, urging the formation of a committee with the SDEO/EAC as convenor.

Ruho introduced M/s Infra Project Pvt. Ltd., the contractor for the construction, and explained the Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM), where grievances can be filed both online and offline.

During the discussion session, members deliberated on issues such as electricity capacity, water connections, and community contributions. Participants were encouraged to support the project, particularly in facilitating the forwarding of files through their respective offices.

The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the Deputy Commissioner.

In Tuensang, a similar meeting was held on 6th February 2025 at the DC’s conference hall. Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, the District Committee of LSCs and community stakeholders of GHSS Tuensang discussed the Lighthouse School Complex project. Avelu Ruho, Deputy Project Director (DPD) NECTAR, gave an in-depth presentation on the project’s objectives, selection criteria, and expected outcomes, emphasizing the need for active participation from civil societies to ensure the success of the project.
