The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Mokokchung, organised a one-day educational exposure trip for children from the Care & Support Children Home on July 28 to broaden their educational horizons and provide firsthand exposure to higher education institutions.
The children visited Fazl Ali College, where they explored the Botany Laboratory, Zoology Museum, aviary and digitised classrooms. They also visited the Horticulture Department Nursery and State Agriculture Research Station (SARS), Yisemyong.
The visits introduced the children to academic environments, courses and potential career opportunities while encouraging them to look beyond their present circumstances and pursue their aspirations.
Through campus visits and interactions, participants gained insights into higher education and the importance of perseverance in achieving their goals.
District Child Protection Officer Samuel Kapu thanked the institutions for welcoming the children and facilitating the visits.
Kapu said such exposure programmes contribute to the holistic development of children under institutional care by boosting confidence, broadening perspectives and motivating them to work towards a brighter future.
