A delegation of Members of Parliament from the northeastern states met with the Ambassador of India to Japan, Sibi George, at the Indian Embassy in Tokyo on Sunday.
In a social media post, Nagaland’s lone Rajya Sabha MP S Phangnon Konyak said the delegation will hold high-level dialogues with Japanese counterparts and other representatives as part of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation’s ‘Engaging Northeast into Act East’, to be implemented along with Confederation of Indian Industry. The MP said they will also visit sites relevant to the development of the Northeast Region.
On Monday, the delegation visited the Shorinzan Daruma Temple in Takasaki, Gunma (Japan). They also met the Governor of Gunmamm Mr Yamamoto Ichita.
