New Delhi, February 12 (MTNews): The Delhi Ao Kaketshir Telongjem (DAKT) held its 31st annual Freshers’ Meet on Saturday, February 11, at Nagaland House in New Delhi.
The Chief Speaker of the event, Sentisungla Longchar, Assistant Professor of Psychology at Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi, spoke about the importance of mental health among the youth. Through anecdotes from her experiences in Delhi, she encouraged the freshers to interact with the professors and thrive relentlessly despite the overwhelming environment.
Additionally, she highlighted the importance of having a vision and being passionate about one’s career.
The event’s Chief Guest, Limatula Yaden, IRS, Joint Secretary, Tax Research Unit, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, emphasized the importance of humility in all aspects of life. She left the youths with a quote from the Persian Poet Rumi, “You are not a drop in the ocean; you are the ocean in a drop.”
Pangertoshi Walling, President of Delhi Ao Kaketshir Telongjem, emphasized on importance of culture and its preservation while, Er N Ajungba Jamir, President of Delhi Ao Senso Telongjem, encouraged the students to go beyond their comfort zone as the act evokes intuition that strengthens and provides new perspectives.
Sentikala Imchen spoke on behalf of the thirty two freshers who attended the event. In addition, the program exhibited a cultural presentation by the students. An informal session on the theme of Metsüben Nüknüra was held following the formal session.
The event was attended by over 250 delegates and representatives from various students’ unions across Delhi.
