The Department of Health & Family Welfare (DH&FW) has announced the availability of assistance under the Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme, which aims to improve healthcare access for individuals with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation, and Multiple Disabilities. Launched by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the scheme is administered by the National Trust.
The Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme offers comprehensive coverage, providing eligible beneficiaries with up to Rs. 1 lakh annually for hospitalization, therapy, corrective surgeries, and alternative medicines.
To avail of the benefits, individuals must enroll with the National Trust. The following documents are required for registration: Disability certificate with UDID card or UDID enrollment number along with PWD certificate; Address proof; Income certificate (for Above Poverty Line) and; Enrolment fee payment proof.
Registrations and applications must be facilitated through any Registered Organization (RO) listed with the National Trust. Below is a list of Registered Organizations in the state:
