Department of Posts Mokokchung Sub-Division holds Dak Community Development Program in Chuchuyimpang

Mokokchung, 10 October (MTNews): The Department of Posts, Mokokchung Sub-Division organized the Dak Community Development Program (DCDP) in celebration of World Post Day today at Chuchuyimpang Community Hall. This was the second DCDP event conducted after the first was held in Kigwema Sub-Division.

 

 

The Dak Community Development Program aims to raise awareness about the Department of Posts’ new services, consolidate information and services from both central and state governments, expand customer enrollment for government schemes, and engage local state government officials in planning and execution. This initiative aims to bring Payment Bank Services, E-commerce and export facilitation services, Citizens Centric services, and financial services of the Department of Post Office to the doorsteps of citizens.

In the event today, short speeches were also made by special guests Temsumoa Imsong, Chairman of the Village Council of Chuchuyimpang; Maongsangla, Deputy District Agriculture Officer; Tajunginla, Coordinator of PMMVY at District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Mokokchung; and Mangliyangba, District WELFARE Officer, Mokokchung.

Narola Jamir, Postmaster of Mokokchung MDG, and Simranjeet Gumber, Manager of the Indian Post Payment Bank (IBPB), shared insights into the various schemes, financial services and products provided by the Department of Posts.

The welcome address was delivered by L Tiken Singh, Superintendent of Post, Nagaland Division, and Kevikhrielie Kirha, Sub-divisional Inspector of Post offices Mokokchung, conveyed the vote of thanks. Earlier, the invocation prayer was pronounced by a Pastor, Chuchuyimpang Baptist Church and the event was chaired by Kilangkumla Longchar, Sub Postmaster, Impur Sub Post Office.

This year’s weeklong National Postal Week 2023 is scheduled to be observed from 9 to 13 October with the following days of celebration: 9 October (Monday) – World Post Day; 10 October (Tuesday) – Vittiya Sashaktikaran Diwas; 11 October (Wednesday) – Philately Day; 12 October (Thursday) – Mails & Parcels Day; and 13 October (Friday) – Antyodaya Diwas.
