Kisama hosts Christmas Devotional Service organised by Legislators Christian Fellowship and NJCF
At the Advent Christmas Devotional Service held at Kisama Heritage Village on December 7, Deputy Chief Minister T.R. Zeliang cautioned that rising divisions among Nagas could cause long-term harm if not addressed collectively.

Speaking at the service organised by the Nagaland Legislators Christian Fellowship in collaboration with the Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF), Zeliang urged citizens to “renew commitment to unity” during a time he described as increasingly marked by fragmentation across overground and underground groups.
Reflecting on the meaning of Christmas, he said the nativity story symbolises people from diverse backgrounds being brought together by a single hope. “This same spirit should guide us today,” he said, stressing that unity was essential for peace and stability.
He lauded the NJCF for promoting inter-denominational harmony and encouraged the Forum to extend this effort beyond the Church. Referring to the recent Healing and Revival Festival in Dimapur, where thousands gathered seeking spiritual renewal, Zeliang said the overwhelming response showed “the people’s desire for God’s mercy and blessings.”
As homes across Nagaland lit up for the season, he reminded the gathering that Christmas lights should also represent shared responsibility, forgiveness, and reconciliation. Diversity, he said, must be seen as “a strength, not a source of separation.”
NJCF Secretary Rev. Moses Murry thanked the Deputy Chief Minister for supporting the service and called for spiritual awakening in the State, saying such renewal could foster peace and deeper unity. He urged the public to rediscover the true meaning of Christmas beyond its material celebrations.
The service was led by Rev Izieteilung Tering, State Chaplain, and featured musical performances by pianist Arolu Phesao, cantor Akhrou Veswuh, Bethesda Higher Secondary School, and local artists. A special prayer for the Naga people was offered by Khontele Seb, while Those Kraho of the Bible Society of India (Kohima Branch) delivered the scripture reading.
The program concluded with hymns and a benediction by Pastor Sunep Jamir of the Nagaland Pentecostal Mission.
