Mokokchung, October 29 (MTNews): In a rejoinder to a news item regarding the resignation letter by the now resigned president of BJP Wokha District, Yanthungo Kikon, dated October 27, the Deputy Chief Minister’s Office (Dy. CMO) has stated that Kikon left the party “to support the candidature of his nephew who is an intending candidate representing JDU party from 37 A/C.”

The Dy. CMO said in the rejoinder that it was “appalled at the resignation letter” leveling serious allegations against the incumbent Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland.

While stating that it was the prerogative of every individual to take such decisions for personal gains as election approaches, Dy. CMO said that it was an outburst not expected of a senior party leader who claimed to have served the party for a decade.

The Dy. CMO asked whether Kikon was serving the party or the Deputy CM and said that, besides being the BJP District President and a party karyakarta like any other person, “he was never associated or attached to the Dy. CM at any point of time; and his sudden outburst of anger and frustration came as a shock.”

The Dy. CMO also said that things may not run according to everyone’s whims and fancies but Deputy CM Patton has been working selflessly for the welfare of the people in bringing all round development, which it said was visible for everyone to see and be judged by the masses; “and not by few disgruntled individuals,” it added.

The Dy. CMO while wishing Kikon luck in his endeavors hoped that he would find greener pasture in the new party.
