While GHS Saringyim has made significant strides in education, achieving a 100% pass rate in Class 10 examinations for five consecutive years, the village continues to face severe challenges due to poor network connectivity and unreliable power supply. The lack of basic infrastructure has left the area neglected, frustrating residents who struggle with daily tasks that require stable internet and electricity.

Teachers from GHS Saringyim under Mangkolemba subdivision travel 9 kilometers into Assam to access the internet to upload and download essential files like mid-term marks and NBSE-related files and documents as the only stable mobile service provider in the region Airtel reportedly stopped functioning from 11 September 2024.

The situation has become so dire that teachers from GHS Saringyim are forced to travel 9 kilometers into Assam to upload and download essential files. According to a source, the only functioning mobile service provider in the region, Airtel, ceased operations on September 11, 2024.

In an update received here, one of the teachers lamented, “This is the sorry state… We have to go to Assam just to upload and download. We’ve lodged numerous complaints with Airtel’s Mokokchung office, but nothing has been done.”

While GHS Saringyim has made remarkable academic progress, the lack of basic infrastructure threatens to undermine its continued success. Residents have, therefore, urged immediate action to address the network and power issues that have left the village feeling neglected.
