The Office of the Director General of Police (DGP), Nagaland, Kohima, has issued an addendum to the earlier recruitment advertisement No. PHQ(B-1)1/Recruitment/constable/2023/Dated 30/09/2025. The previous notification had allotted 144 posts of Constable (GD) under the “open competition category” for all indigenous tribes of Nagaland across Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Niuland districts.
According to the latest notification, the government has reconsidered the matter and decided to allocate the 144 posts among the indigenous Naga tribes of Nagaland based on the tribal ratio, using data from the 2011 Census for the erstwhile Dimapur district.
This decision has been conveyed through the Home Department letter No. POL/ESTT/RECRUITMENT/1/202 (PT-VII), dated Kohima, November 3, 2025.
The allocation of posts for each indigenous Naga tribe of Nagaland for the combined districts of Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Niuland, along with the remaining districts, will be uploaded on the Nagaland Police Recruitment Portal and the Department’s website at https://police.nagaland.gov.in. The break-up of total posts for male and female candidates will also be reflected in the same chart.
Applicants from Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Niuland must be residents of these districts and possess valid supporting documents such as Indigenous Inhabitant Certificates and Scheduled Tribe Certificates issued by district authorities not below the rank of Additional Deputy Commissioner.
An option for candidates to change their applied district will be available on the recruitment portal from November 8, 2025. They can log in using their registered mobile number to make necessary changes, after which a revised admit card will be generated.
The last date for online application submission has been extended by 15 days, from November 8 to November 22, 2025. Other contents and guidelines of the original advertisement remain unchanged.
