Mokokchung, 3 July (MTNews): In observance of World Population Day 2023, the Department of Health and Family Welfare , Mokokchung has announced plans to organize a population fortnight from 11th to 24th July 2023. This year’s theme, “On occasion of Azadi ka Amrit Mohatsav, let us pledge to adopt family planning as a choice for happiness and prosperity,” highlights the importance of family planning for the well-being and development of individuals and communities.
According to a press release from the Chief Medical Officer Office in Mokokchung, a range of services will be provided free of cost during this fortnight. These services include tubectomy and IUCD insertions. Tubectomy procedures will be carried out at the District Hospital Mokokchung, while IUCD insertions will be conducted at Primary Health Centers (PHCs) and Community Health Centers (CHCs) throughout the designated period.
To avail of these services, interested individuals are encouraged to provide their names to the Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) or visit the nearest health center during the mobilization fortnight, which will take place from 27th June to 10th July 2023.
