Mokokchung, September 16 (MTNews): District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), Mokokchung conducted its Fresher’s Day program under the theme “Hon-ü Dük Aokpü” which translates into ‘Prism of possibilities’ at the institute’s auditorium on Friday.
Temsuwabang, Vice Principal during a brief exhortation said, “Teaching is the mother of all profession,” while asserting the importance of teaching and impact a teacher can have on an individual.
Citing example from the quote, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for lifetime,” he went on to say that the teachers in the institute were there to assist the students in becoming professional skilled teachers.
The vice principal further urged the freshers to work hand in hand with the faculty and colleagues stating that it would benefit in them learning and achieving the goal of becoming professional teachers.
Speaking on behalf of the freshers, Moasenla stated that teachers were among the most underrated professions in the state but, however, it is the most important as teachers are the ones to mold children who will be the future of tomorrow.
She also went on to say that, as teachers in today’s place and time, one must be well versed in the use of technology to be able to teach efficiently.
During the program, out of 39 students, Lanuteka and Temjenmenla Longkumer were crowned as the Mister and Miss Fresher.
