The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Mokokchung held its farewell ceremony, titled “Au Revoir,” for the graduating batch of 2023-2025 on 30 May. The event was celebrated under the theme “The Royal Affair”.
Keduonei Sachu, Principal of DIET Mokokchung, delivered the principal’s address, extending his best wishes to the students and encouraging them to excel in their future endeavors. He urged the graduates to always consider the institution as their family, no matter where life takes them.
Highlighting two important points, Principal Sachu advised the students to: Strive to earn respect; and Remember that learning has no ending.
He emphasized the importance of continuous learning and encouraged the students to keep acquiring new knowledge. He also reminded them to be good to themselves, as this would help shape their personality and make them responsible citizens, leading to successful and happy lives.
Sachu explained the etymology of the word “farewell,” noting that “fare” means voyage and “well” signifies success and happiness. He reassured the graduates that farewell is not a sad goodbye but a wish for a new and joyful beginning.
