Dimapur 24/7 conducts HIV/AIDS awareness programme at Eden Higher Secondary School

Dimapur 24/7 Foundation, in collaboration with the District Integrated Strategy for HIV/AIDS (DISHA), Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur, conducted an HIV/AIDS awareness programme at Eden Higher Secondary School, Thilixu, on Tuesday.

Held under the theme “Awareness Today, Protection for Tomorrow,” the programme was conducted under the leadership of Annie Jain, Chairperson, Dimapur 24/7, and attended by more than 300 students.

The awareness session was led by Orenthung Ngullie, District Programme Officer, DISHA, who spoke to students about HIV transmission, prevention, testing and the importance of accessing accurate information and support.

Ngullie also addressed common misconceptions surrounding HIV/AIDS and stressed the need to prevent stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV.

An interactive question-and-answer session followed, allowing students to seek clarification on various aspects of HIV/AIDS.

Dimapur 24/7 said providing young people with accurate information was essential to helping them make informed and responsible choices while promoting greater understanding of HIV/AIDS.

The foundation expressed appreciation to Eden Higher Secondary School, DISHA and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur, for their cooperation in conducting the programme.

Dimapur 24/7 said it would continue undertaking community-oriented initiatives to promote awareness, understanding and responsible choices on important social and public health issues.
