Regional Executive Director of the North East Region, Guwahati, M Raja Kishore, announced in a press release on December 7, 2024, that he and his team visited Dimapur Airport to inspect the ongoing terminal building capacity expansion project. Following a review meeting with the Airport Director and the airport team, Kishore assured that the renovation and expansion of the terminal would be completed by March 2024.

During his visit, Kishore also attended the 25th Hornbill Festival in Kohima at the invitation of the Nagaland State Government, experiencing the state’s vibrant cultural diversity and festivities.

In a meeting with Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, discussions centered on resolving land issues critical for upgrading Dimapur Airport to international standards. The Chief Minister assured prompt action to address these concerns, aiming to enhance aircraft operations and connectivity.

The discussions further explored Nagaland’s tourism potential and opportunities for promoting organic cargo, with input from local chambers of commerce. Kishore emphasized the importance of improving business and entrepreneurial prospects, creating employment opportunities, and bolstering connectivity through the upgraded Dimapur Airport.
