Recognizing the crucial role of public participation in maintaining law and order, DAYO expressed its commitment to working closely with the Police Department to address criminal activities, “especially the menace of rampant extortion and drug trafficking which is spreading like cancer in Nagaland,” a press release from the DAYO said.

During the meeting, DAYO emphasized the importance of community policing and affirmed its dedication to collaborating with like-minded social and youth organizations. Together, they aim to ensure that the rule of law is respected and upheld throughout the state. The discussion centered on combating the prevailing threats that hinder the growth and progress of Nagaland and its society.

“The dynamic DGP also highlighted the new initiative to address crime detection/report to check extortion, drugs trafficking and other crimes through the participation of the citizens as these menaces only retards the growth and progress of our State and society,” it said.

In light of these developments, DAYO appealed to all citizens to extend their full cooperation to the police. They urged the public to actively engage with law enforcement authorities to create a secure environment and ensure the well-being of the state’s residents.
